About Me

My name is Suzi Presland and I have been a passionate teacher with big aspirations for all children for over 23 years.  As an Inclusion Leader and SENCo for the last 8 years, I work with many children and families across a broad spectrum of strengths and learning needs.  I am a firm believer in not placing glass ceilings on children, particularly those with a diagnosis or difficulty, and have high expectations for them all.

Having achieved the National SENCo Award and Post-graduate Certificate in Vulnerable Learners and Inclusion, I returned to Bath Spa University and completed Post-graduate Certificates (Level 7) to become a Dyslexia assessor and specialist teacher. What began as a desire to understand more about dyslexia in a practical sense as part of my SENCo role, evolved into a desire to be able to use this specialism more and so Orchid Education was born.

I am AMBDA qualified and I have associate membership with the British Dyslexia Association and Assessment Practise Certificate status with PATOSS (Professional Association of Teachers Of Students with Specific learning difficulties) where I also have full membership. This means that my qualifications are recognised by SASC (SpLD Assessment Standards Committee) and that I studied an accredited course.  I hold Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance and I have a current active DBS.

Seeing self-confidence in a child grow is a joy and having a part to play in a child's learning journey is a privilege that I truly relish. Where a child may be experiencing difficultly, understanding their world is important and this is where diagnostic assessment fits in.  There is more information on what the assessment process looks like on this website, but please do get in touch if you have any questions at all.
